In this unit you will learn exactly what ‘fitness’ is, how it can be effectively achieved and the importance of a nutritious diet. You will also look at different food groups, what comprises a balanced diet and the effects of exercise on different systems in the body.
Unit 2: Demonstrate an understanding of safety factors relating to exercise
In this unit you will learn how to plan a safe exercise session and how to select appropriate clothing and gym equipment for certain exercise activities. You will also learn about how to complete risk assessments relating to exercise and how to avoid injury.
Unit 3: Apply the principles of a training programme
This unit will cover how to plan and evaluate a personal fitness profile and training programme. Upon completion you will understand how to re-evaluate your fitness levels and plan future exercise sessions.
